Do I need to register my home charger with my grid operator?
Do you have a charging point at home or at work? If so, you are required to register it with your grid operator in Belgium. This applies to all charging points, both private and (semi-)public.
Even if your charging station was installed several years ago and has not yet been registered, you still need to do so.
Do you live in the Brussels-Capital Region? In that case, you must also have a smart meter. If you do not have one yet, it still needs to be installed.
Here, you can find out how to register your charging point. The procedure differs by region, so follow the steps that apply to your place of residence.
Don't forget to register your charging point: failure to comply with this obligation may result in a fine.
