Step 1: Report the incident to the police as soon as possible

A police report is required because CCTV footage cannot be shared with third parties and can only be requested by the police.

Please note that CCTV footage is only retained for a limited period before it is automatically overwritten. Make sure to act quickly:

• Belgium: up to 30 days
• The Netherlands: up to 28 days
• Luxembourg: between 7 and 30 days

Step 2: Notify us by email as soon as possible

Have you reported the incident to the police and obtained a case number? If so, please send an email to privacy@q8.com with the following information:

• The official police report or incident number
• An overview of the fraudulent transactions
• The exact address of the station involved
• The date and exact time of the incident

Step 3: Q8 assesses whether CCTV footage can be requested

If the analysis shows that the requested CCTV footage originates from a station operated by us (Q8), we will take the necessary steps to retrieve the footage. The police can then request the footage using the corresponding police report or incident number.

If the analysis shows that the requested CCTV footage originates from a station not operated by us (Q8), the footage is the property of the station operator. As Q8 only supplies the fuel at these locations, we are unable to request or release the footage. After a police report has been filed, the police can request the footage directly from the station operator within the legal retention period.
