What is the difference between my credit limit and my card limit? And how can I change them?

There is an important difference between the credit limit and the card limit. Both determine how much you can fuel, but they apply at different levels.

What is a credit limit?

  • The credit limit applies to your entire account.

  • It is the maximum total amount your company can spend across all cards combined.

  • The credit limit therefore determines how much “available capacity” there is for all your cards and is influenced by outstanding invoices and transactions that have not yet been invoiced.

What is a card limit?

  • The card limit applies to one specific card.

  • It determines how much can be fueled with that single card (for example per day, week or month).

  • Please note: if you increase a card limit, there must also be sufficient available credit limit at account level.
