What is the difference between a virtual and a physical fuel card?
Important: the information below only applies if you became a customer after 07/07/2026.
With a virtual fuel card, you can refuel digitally via the Q8 app at Q8 stations in Belgium. You do not need a physical card. You can find more information about mobile refuelling here. Creating a virtual fuel card is completely free.
A physical Q8 fuel card is used directly at the pump. Depending on your package, this card may also be issued free of charge. In addition, you can link your physical fuel card to the Q8 app, allowing you to refuel using your smartphone as well.
If you activate your physical card for use within our extensive Benelux partner network, you can refuel not only at Q8 stations but also at Tango, Esso*, Shell and Texaco.
* Esso EG only.
