Electric vehicles have a mechanism that locks the charging cable with a pin coming out of the charging port.

Usually, the cable will unlock automatically when you stop your charging session.
If not, follow the steps below.

• Make sure the charging session has been stopped. The charger’s screen will show whether the session is still active.
• It may not be possible to unlock the plug because the weight of the pin is blocking the locking mechanism. In that case, it helps to support the cable when you unlock the vehicle with your car keys.
• Some vehicles can be unlocked by a button next to the loading port. Press this button while supporting the cable.
• Vehicles without a release button next to the charging port generally offer another way to unlock a charging cable. Refer to the vehicle’s manual to find out what this is.
